Description

This is a special online fundraiser for Save Brindi members who are willing and able to help pay for Brindi's vet in Nova Scotia to do an ultrasound and biopsy on her. The tests are being scheduled for the end of this month, around Jan. 23-25.

Dr. Larkin has been monitoring Brindi's health while in custody, at the request of her companion and lawful owner, Francesca Rogier.

Based on recent examinations of Brindi, Dr. Larkin has become worried that Brindi might have pancreatic cancer or some other serious condition.

THE TARGET GOAL:

The cost of these tests could be as much as $1500, based on the estimate drawn up by the vet today. Minimum cost is $700.

There is no treatment for pancreatic cancer. It is vital to have a diagnosis as soon as possible. The ultrasound and the biopsy are needed to make a proper diagnosis. Francesca is already struggling to keep afloat financially, as she is not permitted to work in Canada. For over a year, she has been borrowing money to cover the bills.

With your generous help, we plan to raise the money needed to pay for Brindi's tests. This money will only go to the vet's fees. Danielle Parsons has volunteered to keep track of donations and get a copy of the receipts from the vet clinic for verification.

HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE:

Two ways: 1. Donate from anywhere via paypal, or 2. If you live in Nova Scotia, you may buy a raffle ticket!

1. Paypal donation link:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=2DPJ4QW2M3K78

IMPORTANT: Please be sure to earmark your donation "VET BILL".*
EVERY donation is welcome, in any amount!

2. Raffle for folks in Nova Scotia: Sponsored by Danielle Parsons and her catering company!

TICKETS: $2.00 each or 3 tickets for $5.00.

PRIZE: A $150.00 gift certificate for catering, to use for a party (birthday, anniversary, shower, etc.), for food and snacks, serving up to 10 guests,
OR applicable to any large event as a $150.00 discount!

PRIZE DRAWING: The prizewinning ticket will be drawn by Danielle on January 31 from a box filled with the names of all ticket buyers. The name of the winner will be posted here and sent to all participants.

HOW TO GET TICKETS: We can arrange to have tickets brought to you, or you may pick them up, or message Daniel, who will fill tickets out with name and phone number for you and place them in the box.

THERE'S MORE!!! Another company has offered to match all donations from raffle tickets and paypal by the end of January, up to the amount of $100!

The list of donations sent to me via email will be printed out and shown to this company, who will them match dollar for dollar! This firm would like to remain annomyous for the moment, but they have generously offered a great thing!

YOUR CHOICE: if you do not wish to/cannot purchase raffle tickets for the $150 catering gift certificate, then you can still just send your generous donation to Danielle or via paypal.

As stated, we will post a scanned veterinary receipt later on, as we want you to know you've assisted in Brindi's vet care!

Danielle says: So let's begin! Anyone wanting to purchase raffle tickets or donate, please message me ASAP! Remember I have to show proof to the company that is matching donations and I will also list donations and the name of sender unless they request to remain anonymous!

Thanks so much in advance! We are all praying that the tests will bring good news!

Donations have already started coming in! Stay tuned for updates!

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT!!! THIS IS A GREAT GROUP!!!

BACKGROUND
During the two years Halifax impounded Brindi, she contracted serious chronic illnesses that are traceable to lack of proper care.* Pancreatitis is one of them.

Brindi was hospitalized several times for symptoms of pancreatitis - diarrhea and vomiting - in late 2009. Though since Sept. 2010, the city has been cooperating with the vet so that Brindi's health could be monitored, it has refused to turn over complete health records.

In the last few months of 2011, the vet has seen indications of increased pancreatic enzymes, but according to the poundkeeper she has not been showing symptoms of pancreatitis.

*(Note: This is an account in Francesca's name. She opened it for the sole purpose of donations for legal costs. Paypal keeps a record of all transactions.)

**Brindi's teeth and gums developed dental disease, which can cause staph infections that attack organs and can cause sudden death. Francesca tried to prevent this from happening from day one, by regularly bringing fresh beef bones to the shelter. Unbeknownst to her, they did not give them to Brindi. """""""""

Talk about being a sucker!

Geeee when will people learn that Fran Rogier is nothing but a leach.

""Danielle Parsons
Hi Brindi supporters and friends! As you can read Francesca has an update on Brindi's tests that she needs! Here is where the real help is needed! Due to many procedures and hurdles with Brindi's vet care her mom Francesca has felt it finanially and that's quiet understandable. With all of their friends and supporters this is a small thing to ask of all of us, just think a small donation per person (that are able to help as we understand those that cannot, this is not expected from anyone) we could assist in Brindi's care and take some of the stressfull financial demand off of Francesca. Both of these procedures will help in Brindi's care and finding out what comes next for her, of course we all lean towards the more expensive as it's more expensive for a reason proberly that it's more though BUT even to cover the less expensive one would be a great thing for all of us to accomplish, Brindi may be having these tests begun between the 21st and 25th of January so a portion of what will be raised would be great to have by then, it can be donated slowly or all at once either way Brindi will get the care she will need and Francesca the assistance she needs! Again I live across the road from them and know the area and the people well, I am doing this and all I will do because I beleive in justice and I beleive in doint what's right and humane! I will be in personal contact with Francesca as I'm going to plan a coffee meet with her soon to go over some things...Here is what I have accomplised in todays hours...I have myself down at a $25.00 donation, I also own a small catering company and I plan to have a raffel come together and sell tickets on a $150.00 gift certificate to my company that can be used for a small party up to 10 people worth of food or can be used on a larger even such as a wedding with a discount of the amount of certificate (details to be announced for anyone in the area who would like to purcase tickets, I need to get lotto number and do it legal) and that's not all..I have an offer from another small comany in the area (they wished not be named for now) that will match donations UP TO $100.00 by the end of January, so what's been donated by Jan 31st this company will match! That's great! I have an account that will be for donations, here is how that will work, donations can be emailed to me, the person donated should then post on this page "Donated $ amount to Brindi", I will then write it down and in the end a list will go together showing how much and how great everyone was in helping, if you wish to keep your donation private please PM me and I can write you on the list as annomyous, I will be working with Francesca to get her vet the donations to cover procedures comming up needed by Brindi and I am aiming to have the receipt scanned and posted so everyone can see that Brindi has put to use the much appricated donations, No funds past what she needs will be accecpted or used for any other reason but her vet bills that's my word once I think we have what it will take I will take no more donations but will keep anyone on hand that missed giving before amount was reached as prices or needs may change! Now this isn't going to be an ongoing thing, Brindi and her mom are not expecting from here on in everything be paid for by you all, just this time it's needed and would be much appricated! Lets get together Brindi supporters and friends and make this next month a much easier one on Brindi by getting her the procedures/test's she needs and much easier on her mom financially, this will also help her be financially ready on her own to take the next bout of tests or who knows court "winning" so she can take Brindi HOME!! Please if you'd like to donate messge me privatly and I will give you the information needed to do so, I have changed my settings so that anyone can PM me! Thanks and lets get this done! Thanks in advance from Francesca, Brindi and myself!"""

Keep pushing Fran! AKA Lina Burkholder

Pre-emptive letter to prosecutor re Christmas stocking for Brindi, RCMP
By Francesca Rogier in SAVE BRINDI AND FRANCESCA FROM THE CITY OF HALIFAX!!!!

From: Francesca Rogier

Date: Mon, 26 Dec 2011 20:59:12 -0400

To: Katherine Salsman

Conversation: Please tell Christine Graham not to send the RCMP to harass me/request meeting now

Subject: Please tell Christine Graham not to send the RCMP to harass me/request meeting now

Dear Ms. Salsman:

It was wholly unnecessary for Ms. Graham, operator of Wyndenfog Kennels, to send the RCMP to my door to harass me for knocking on her door on Christmas Day at about 5:30 in the afternoon and leaving a stocking stuffed with treats for my dog, Brindi.

Ms. Graham cannot accuse me of anything other than that, and last I heard, it is not a crime, nor legitimate grounds for any ban. Delivering a Christmas gift usually does not require advance notice. I did not break in, I did not stay for any length of time.

I did not see anyone taking care of the place either. In fact, I was very concerned that no one was at home, because that means no one was looking after my dog yesterday. Not only does it pain my heart to see that Brindi was all alone on Christmas, but it was a very cold day and I worry that Ms. Graham turned the heat down or even off when she left. I wish to know exactly how long she leaves Brindi unattended on a daily basis. Can you please provide this information within a week’s time?

In the meantime, please instruct Ms. Graham that I am Brindi’s owner, not her, as she told the RCMP officers. This is totally incorrect. It concerns me to hear such misinformation being spread. I advise as well that she cease using law enforcement authorities for such purposes. It happens that Ms. Graham operates at least two if not three types of businesses at that address. She is surely accustomed to people coming to her door. I do not appreciate two officers visiting my home on Boxing Day or any other day, for no good reason. It was clear from their demeanor that they felt the same. Should she or you consider a PPA or accuse me of trespassing, I am prepared to defend myself in court. I welcome the chance for a court to review the circumstances of HRM’s indefinite detention of property. And since HRM tax revenue is paying for the use of Wyndenfog for this purpose, it certainly has a bearing on the matter.

Finally, my utmost concern is Brindi’s health, and your decision to forbid Dr. Larkin from photographing her is deeply troubling. I cannot imagine a legitimate reason for this sudden change. I wish to meet with you about this as soon as possible.

Lina Burkholder ps, if you do get someone, don't say your calling to support Francesca, just say your part of Brindi's fanclub or something like that.

Well I found this on the occupy NS site!

Sorry I don't have time to comment on this, however if you go to occupy ns its all there...........Bottom line Frannie needs to be in charge and have control. Is it not time that the Canadian immigration took a stand and booted her sorry fat ass out of here? All she wants is a welfare state!

Francesca Rogier I'm thoroughly exhausted physically right now, so I may not say things very well or concisely, but I am just so astonished and dismayed by some of the people here who spent HOURS complaining, pre-judging, judging, and withholding, I cannot sleep. Did I miss it, or did nobody actually say they'd pitch in with a few bucks? Even those wishing Frenchy well, I have yet to see you put your money on the table, if you have any to spare.
Either you are willing to help out, or you are not; if not, skip the post and comment on something else. PLEASE. I truly wonder if any of you really intend to pitch in, or are only interested in grilling Frenchy, looking for a reason to dump on him if he happens to answer wrong. Others are interested more in elevating themselves by touting the wise choices they've made in their lives, as if to show they are certain are superior to Frenchy's choices.
The guy was humbly asking for help. Can you imagine dropping the judgement and helping out?? How reckless would that really be? It's Christmas in a few days! But any day of the year, really, what business is it of anybody else why he has two dogs, or whether he applied for assistance? Isn't that just a wee bit intrusive? Do you go around asking single moms why they are single and why they have kids, before you offer to help them? Offering to go with Frenchy to apply for welfare when he asked for help for his dogs - how really patronizing and condescending! Who can blame him for not buying that such talk is coming from a loving, respectful, and caring place.

Do people seeking help from fellow occupiers really need to fill
out an application now, with ID and sponsorship, or what?

Please, don't anybody offer to "facilitate" or ameliorate this discussion or my comments: there is no compassion whatsoever in withholding help til somebody answers a series of questions to your satisfaction, then agrees to a plan of action you think they should follow before you deign to give them a hand!! My god in frigging heaven, spare me!! Sure, some people do this, but it's not particularly compassionate and it sure ain't Christian. Imagine if the people donating all that clothing and money and food to Occupy NS were like this! We'd be in pretty sad shape, wouldn't we? We got thousands of dollars and it doesn't look like we even have a game plan, so don't be fussing about what Frenchy is doing by asking for a hundred or so to keep his dogs 1. ALIVE (safe from the cops) and 2. HEALTHY.

Frenchy is concerned about their health, which is a good thing. Did you all forget that up until yesterday, the cops were closing in on him day by day so they could take his dogs to an unknown fate?? All a few days before Xmas?? I only pointed out about six times that legislation says this is the job of animal services by-law officers, not HRM cops, and that it is not in the by-law to take such action, not to mention that only 95% of all HRM dogs are not tagged. Even the gas station attendant I talked to today knew this, but not many in this group seem to have processed it. WAKE THE HELL UP!!!
This is more police brutality and it is not pretty. When Frenchy got back to the Ark on Wednesday morning, the cops were waiting there to take his dogs. He happily pointed out the tags they are now wearing and one of the cops actually said "Fuck!" It makes me ill my property taxes are used to pay a bunch of sadists. The same sadists that have my dog locked up for over three years and smile at my pain and misery when I see her being trapped in the same building year after year, become old and ill - they smile and laugh!
The fact is that Frenchy's dogs are well-fed and well-liked, but even if they were not, I don't see any reason to withhold comfort and food from them, in fact, all the more reason to help out!
Frenchy just happens to be smart enough and savvy enough to know what he needs to do and is already doing it, but I did not stand around and make him jump through hoops before I decided to help him. All I needed to know was that the HRM cops were about to take his dogs and that he did not have the money to get the tags. That was enough; the rest rest was his business.

If you want some kind of guarantee that your charity won't go to waste - well, forget it! There are no guarantees in life. We all do the best we can. And if you think that's not good enough, fine, move on.

Talk about being a media whore!

""Francesca Rogier
Nearly an entire year ago, I sat down in a library with a free-lance writer for the Canadian Reader's Digest, and he interviewed me about Brindi for three hours. He said the magazine would publish an article of 1000 words within a few months. After four months, he said it would be out in another few months. After another few months, he said the editor was still interested and planning to publish it, but it never appeared, all year long. I do not know why. I wonder if people should write to the Reader's Digest and ask them to publish the piece! Anybody interested in helping?""

Don't worry Frannie people have written,to give the RD the other side of the story..the truth...not your lies. It is highly unlikely your lies will be on the pages of RD...so suck it up.

Looks like fran has been away

Wonder who looked after her cat??

""Francesca Rogier
I was just visiting my mom, who turned 90 at the end of October, and she is so distressed over it all, including about my sisters' stupidity with the lawyer, and about how that lawyer could be such a crook and get away with it, and - because she is really not a dog lover, and never has been, though she understands how important Brindi is to me - mainly she is distressed about how this has messed up my life and my plans so much. She wept so hard, and I wept with her.

WEll I sat here long enough doing Bull Shit Research

Occupy and Frannie, don't you all love it Frannie jumping up and down in glee, The dumb bitch hasn't got a clue,oh ya sure she has James Wiseman and Miles WTF in her corner. However the vast majority in their minds ( if they have one and that is a stretch), are beginning to see that Frannie wants to be in control and are telling her so. It seems that SFB is beginning to be a bit pissed off; just check her last posts on occupy. I do not have the time to past and copy all her BS.

Frannie all in favor of buying a old bus ........Why when her shack falls down she will have a new camp Ha Ha another winter with no water, heat,or septic Come on HRM show some balls boot her sick sorry fat ass out. If you can't or won't call Dexter or McKay surely someone has the power to remove this media whore.

I have done some math, and in the past 3 years this Bitch has cost tax payers of NS over 500,000$ Yet she remains here to suck more $ out of us I say enough is enough that money could of been put to much better use.

While I am on a rant....one more thing why in fuck is the unions backing occupy ns? to date they have received 6000$ of union money who will benefit.....Fran Will one way or another The only reason Fran does anything is for personal gain check out her history,as I said I haven't the time to past and copy all her shit.....use google, check out occupyns on FB.
