BRINDI HEALTH NEWS: The vet called this morning with troubling news about Brindi's blood test result for the pancreatic enzyme level. It's back up again, to 30% above normal. She went over the situation with me in detail. Only two months ago the level was normal (Jan. 24). Yet a month before, it was elevated 30% above normal, for some time. HRM and the kennel are not reporting any pancreatitis symptoms (attacks of diarrhea, vomiting), nor did they report any back then. This makes no sense for a dog with a history of chronic pancreatitis.
When did Brindi develop this history of a chronic pancreatic disease? I did notice with some interest, since you brought the subject up (again) trying to convince others, the current care takers are responsible, that, judging from the pictures you yourself have posted up, while Brindi was in your care, Brindi was already overweight. So coming to that, what did you feed her?
Almost always, the increased enzyme level is accompanied by symptoms. Our vets did the ultrasound to rule out the only other likely cause of the enzyme level increase, i.e., some kind of "mass" (a tumor or thickening). The level went down a month later, but now it's up again.
In one of your other posts, you mentioned again that Brindi had a tumor, so how come the vet did not do a biopsy? You appear to come off at ("poor") Brindi being sick a lot.
And again, the vets cannot figure out why the level shot up. It just doesn't make sense. Sure, there could be some cause they don't know about yet in veterinary medicine - but evidently there aren't any statistics or studies to compare it to, so it would be a pretty big anomaly.
There have, in fact, been a lot of studies done about this subject!
They do know that Brindi had symptoms of pancreatitis in September, because the HRM vet documented them in a letter. And the same letter referred to previous attacks she had over the summer, which HRM didn't report at the time. Put that all together with the lack of a readily available explanation for her weight loss of around two pounds since January, and you have to ask, what is going on here, if she didn't have diarrhea or vomiting (which would explain weight loss)???!
Wow, two whole pounds of weight-loss for a dog that was already overweight is/means getting her back on the right track. You, Madam, are an idiot for trying to make that look different!
As to, what could have caused the weight loss, a more healthy diet, in combination with some healthy exercise, perhaps?
Are HRM and/or the kennel are being truthful? Are they overlooking something? The vet is really frustrated. She pointed out to me that of course, a dog owner would be able to notice subtle changes and report on a dog's health in a lot more detail than a kennel. That frustrates the heck out of me, as you can imagine.
Have you ever been truthful? You, Madam, are a liar, and that frustrates the heck out of all of us, as you can imagine.
At my request, she's looking into a new therapy for stem cell stimulation that Lana Horan recommended. I hope she can start on that soon. It's called StemEnhance. I bought several bottles in 2010 and had just started Brindi on it with the same idea, when HRM took her again. In the meantime, Brindi can't go back on normal (tastier) food or have treats until the enzyme level gets back to normal. That's also frustrating, because she's been on low fat, reduced calorie food for at least half a year now.
They forgot to take photos last week, with all this coming up. I know we'd all like to see some; thanks to those who asked. Hopefully next time...!
Interesting. Why did you want to start this StemEnhance? Since you claim, you wanted to put Brindi on that long before she got into the kennel she is now in? Because you knew, you were feeding her wrong, too many table scraps, perhaps? Just asking.
ME: No way to account for enzymes going back up, even checking Vet Texts from Roman Times to the Present, SO
It MUST be something They are going, not doing, feeding, not feeding at the kennel. "Are HRM and/or the kennel are being truthful?" NOTE: she didn't say they are LYING; just innocently inquiring if they are being truthful.
Must be something they are doing? Feeding, not feeding? Do you even know what you are talking about? I think not, in your distorted mind, all you can think of is blaming the people who are currently taking (very good) care of Brindi.
Francesca Rogier, you and you alone, have placed this poor dog on death row, twice! You have failed to show up in court on time, every singly time you had to!
You, and you alone, have also refused poor Brindi of a life, since the court offered you twice already to re-home Brindi; something you refused, knowing very well you have been and still are, using her and playing with her life!
You have to wonder why she is using this dog. Is it to raise money for herself or is she like those mothers who constantly put their children in peril to get attention for themselves? I tend to think it is both.
ReplyDeleteI see no lacking of drama & demanding attention. As far as the fundraising, unless I missed it there has been no public accounting of where the money goes.
ReplyDeleteWhat idiots you are. It would be laughable if it wasn't so sad that you can't read and comprehend things. Or worse, you deliberately misunderstand and misrepresent. Whichever, it's really crap!
ReplyDeleteFrancesca Rogier never said there was a tumor. What she said is that the vet was concerned there might be a tumor.
She also is not a public charity and has no obligation to make public any donations she gets.
Anonymous, you are the idiot. Fran posted that she would publish all names and amounts donated for the BIG SCARE. She put it all over the net that she would publish it and guess what? Nope she didn't bother once she had your cash. She was gonna publish who won the raffle too...whatever happened to that? What happened to her 'neighbor' across the street who put up the raffle? Did she get booted or did she not exist in the first place?
