278 confirmed guests to protest - 5 people showed up

Worldwide support for Francesca Rogier's cause. Thousand's of members on her Facebook groups.

Over 2,000 people invited to this protest today in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia - and 278 people confirmed that they were going to come - but almost all of them were not from Halifax.

These photos were taken at 1:20 pm and 2:40pm

The protest was slated to start at 1pm on the corner of South Park Street and Spring Garden Road in front of the Public Gardens in downtown Halifax.

This blog thinks it pretty clearly shows how many people showed up, and how many people LOCALLY support Francesca Rogier.

Probably most of the people walking by didn't even notice that there was a protest going on - one would think that EVERYBODY walking by didn't notice that there was a protest going on.

So much for social networking to save lives.

  1. LOL sorry, I just had to laugh. So much for all the support.

Now I wonder how many would come out to support this dog being rehomed?

  2. Hopefully NOW Fran will realize that SHE has NO local support,I'm surprised that 5 people actually showed up.

  3. Unresponsible!!! Hahaha!!! Better get out my english-gail dictionary. No one with any decency or intelligence could possibly support such a senselessly hateful, deeply ignorant illerate.

Get a life and stop stalking Franny - so you don't like her, we GET it. Who cares?
Go save a dog or something, stop wasting your time spewing on the net to all your imaginary friends.

There's a LOT of local support. They just all can't be at the same place at the same time, DUH. Don't tell me any of you wouldn't do the same thing as Franny's doing if you were in her shoes - and don't say oh you couldn't be blah blah blah - because one two three bang, one call to AC and ALL your animals could be gone for good, and don't think it couldn't happen because it CAN, no matter who you think your friends are or that the law is on your side. The law is on their own side, always.

  4. Well I see that this Blog has pissed off a few people and have their attention.
I guess the truth hurts,Fran keeps posting how much local support that she has, well today the proof is in the pudding,5 yes FIVE people showed up,on a beautiful sunny day, that in itself speaks volumes.
One two three bang and your dogs are gone, interesting comment in itself, there were 3 warnings issued by AC to Fran, which she ignored...yes ignored...untill the 4th complaint came in than AC had to enforce the law.

Yes she built a fence of sorts, rants and raves on how she will follow the guide lines set down by HRM if Brindi is returned to her. However its a bit like closing the barn door after the horse escaped.

To release Brindi to Fran would be siging a death sentence as history has a way of repeating itself.

Now Anonymous feel free to rant all you want as it just shows how much intelligence you actually have.

  5. lol like I care what " Anon" says or thinks.

I hope they have many towels to wipe Brindi's blood off their hands.

Oh and BTW... it is franny is not franny's.
Guess you need the dictionary too.

As for support, yeah I guess it will be very hard to get the faces from Africa etc. LMAO... Oh wait, what about the private plane you guys have??

  6. Responsible Dog OwnerSaturday, March 06, 2010

Um Anonymous, you are wrong. If this happened to me, there are many things I would do but protesting on a street corner with a big tacky sign is NOT one of them. In fact, if I had to compile a list of things that I would do, most of what "Franny" has done would not be on my list. "Franny" has mishandled this situation in probably every possible way she could have and she has no one to blame but herself if this dog ends up dead.

I pity "Franny" because I think she is mentally unstable and is in a very bad place right now and I do not envy how she is feeling, it is horrible to feel so downtrodden and lost and have your whole life's energy focused on a losing battle. But who I really feel sorry for here is Brindi because Brindi has spent a year and a half in a shelter because of her irresponsible owner. "Franny" would have you think it is everyone else's fault - HRM for putting rules on her, HRM for charging her, the SPCA for daring to expect she respect their staff when she visits them, she has even spun stories that the courts are delaying her case when in most (if not all) cases it was her own requests or lack of representation that have caused the delays.

In fact "Franny" has pointed the finger at everyone but where she should be pointing it - right back at herself.

  7. Attacking someone's English skills is not going to save your dog.

Someone suggested the 5 people who showed up were family...LMFAO..even they won't support you. Bet they are REALLY glad you moved to Canada.

  8. Funny, in over 370 dogs that I have re-homed... NOT ONCE has AC ever come to my home. In the over 30 + yrs of having my own dogs, NOT ONCE have AC come to my home. So I guess I MUST be following the laws. I guess in that respect I have no worries.

  9. 1. Franny did not "ignore" anything AC ever asked her to do. She registered Brindi when told to, allowed them to seize Brindi without incident, and the ONE occasion when Brindi was apparently without muzzle was accidental.

    2. "Enforcing the law?" You mean the one that the Supreme Court of NS found to be ultra vires, or unconstitutional, right? Hamm seized Brindi for euthanization without any investigation first (as he and the city LIED about in court, according to the judge). Hamm and AC had many options to handle the situation but chose the most extreme and the least legal one. Yet not one word of criticism for law enforcement that not only doesn't understand law, they don't know how to enforce it properly either? Nor do they have one iota of care for Brindi's life? THAT you support and respect? Cops who break the law and want to kill dogs?

    3. I don't need a dictionary, you need an education. "Franny's" is a contraction, short for "Franny is". Correct grammer is an important part of being clearly understood and thus rather important. I don't fault someone for being functionally illiterate, but it certainly gets in the way of being pursuasive. It isn't (short for "is not") your bad grammar but the bad attitude that is offensive...and kind of funny, a person who rants in the semi-intelligible style that you do. You have to understand people are laughing at you. It must be even funnier with a Newfie accent...like all you COME FROM AWAYS.

    4. Franny did many, many things to resolve this situation long before she ever took a street to protest out of desperation.

    5. The only persons to blame are HRM - they are the ones who seized Brindi, and apparently they are the only ones who want her dead. They are the ones who brought incredibly shitty laws into existence (and the province). If Franny was truly an "unresponsible" owner she wouldn't give a shit, who among all of us would've fought this hard? NO ONE, because as all you people keep saying, you would just give Brindi up to whomever the city told you to.

    6. You apparently don't know Franny personally or medically to know whether she is "mentally stable" or not (whatever that means, it's not in DSM-IV). As a matter of fact she is a perfectly normal, if very emotional human being who yes, makes mistakes as EVERY human does. She is also not downtrodden, lost or fighting a losing battle.

Brindi is in a shelter because AC put her there and HRM and the SPCA keep the door locked. They could open it tomorrow to release her to Franny or even transfer her to a proper facility. They CHOOSE not to.

HRM had every right to charge her (as they should have) and the SPCA should be treated with courtesy - not respect, an outfit that kills as many animals as they do for money has a lot of work to do to become respectable. The court delays have been the fault of everyone involved, but anyone who has a passing familiarity with the legal system knows this is exactly how the legal process works. If HRM did their job properly, there should have been an out of court settlement LONG before now.

    7. You DO have something to worry about. You live in a city that doesn't care about due process for citizens and doesn't care about the lives of animals. You may have avoided any conflict with AC so far, and even if you are law abiding it is no guarantee of safety. STOP FIGHTING THE WRONG ENEMY. Franny won't kill your dogs, but HRM, AC and the SPCA (or whomever has the contract) WILL if they want to. YOU RELLY JUST AIN"T GET IT DO YER????

  10. LMAO... of all the responsible pet owners out there and they go after fran for no reason? Bull-cocky!! They did warn her, she has even said that in court. It is documented in writing. Oh but wait, fran says they are wrong too. Everyone is against poor fran. The fisrt time AC came to her house is a warning, the second time is a warning, there should NOT have been another. Is fran so special that laws do not apply to her? Guess what, she isn't. I give a rats ass about her as a dog owner ( at least one with issues ). She may well be a great owner for a dog that is perfectly trained with no issues. If so I am sure she would love that dog totally. As fo a dog with issues like Brindi,no she isn't and never will be because she JUST DON'T GET IT.

All these harassing emails, letters, faxes, phone calls, threats etc. will NOT get Brindi back. Getting people to contact the judge will not get her back either and is against the law. She has done so many things to harm getting Brindi back that most people who truely love their dog would never do in a million years.
Most people would not do anything to harm their visitations with a dog they love. They wouldn't have been banned TWICE because of throwing hissy fits and screaming demands.

She and her friends complain that Brindi has been held so long... well shit... she is the one who got most of the delays and it is said now that she is looking for another. WHO IN THE HELL does she think she is fooling? It certainly isn't me. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I am no fool.

  11. Looking over all the postes I see that my posting telling the truth has been deleted.Lets print it again if you have the body parts. There was 10 supporters there & 5 dogs plus the CH staff reporter MICHAEL LIGHTSTONE who published the article in sundays newspaper.

  12. Yes bob, your post was there but I don't know where it went. good you posted again

  13. The law should apply to everyone. There is obviously reasons why AC ever went out there, but not necessarily good reasons. AC is not ALWAYS right. Just because there are calls doesn't always mean there's good reasons for them either (ask Joan Sinden about her neighbours and calls to AC). There can be smoke without fire.

It isn't "against" the law to contact a judge but a judge is not supposed to be subject to any out of court influence, either from the public or government, which unfortunately happens a lot more frequently than a judge being swayed by any public opinion.

It is the right (and duty) of every citizen in a so-called democracy to be engaged in the political process, for government officials to be transparent and accountable in their actions and decision making.

And you've never made any mistakes?

  14. Hi Anonymous:

I personally am not a come from away, but thanks for putting that out there like it's an insult. :)P Actually it's quite laughable....where is Fran from again exactly?

Why on earth would HRM or the SPCA want to seize a dog for NO REASON? I guess they need more animals to take care of at the shelter? Yeah right. Feed that one to someone 'less educated'

  15. Quote: Don't tell me any of you wouldn't do the same thing as Franny's doing if you were in her shoes - and don't say oh you couldn't be blah blah blah

R: I will absolutely tell you I wouldn't do the same. If I wasn't following the law, if I didn't inform myself as to what the local laws are, if I my animal disobeyed te law once I would sure as hell make sure it never happened again. If I were in her position I would ABSOLUTELY, as hard as it would be, give my dog to a home where she would get the guidance she needed. Is that being perfect? NO! It's called compassion and selflessness. Some people have the ability to make tough decisions, some don't.

QUOTE: because one two three bang, one call to AC and ALL your animals could be gone for good, and don't think it couldn't happen because it CAN, no matter who you think your friends are or that the law is on your side. The law is on their own side, always.

R: If an animal owner is not doing anything to contravene the law they will NOT take your animal away even if a complaint gets filed. They DO come and talk to you, give you information, tell you about consequences and if you so CHOOSE to put yourself in a position where your animal has to be taken away then that's your own bloody fault!

  16. You actually stalked her? Wow...sad indeed. Get a hobby. Volunteer at a local shelter, clean your house, take a bath, pull weeds in your yard, visit a shut in, read to a blind person, do something besides stalk FR. I'm not even taking sides, I'm just amazed at what lengths, supposedly intelligent adults wil go to when they have an axe to grind. Sad

  17. Someone is stalking Fran?? Lmao, well this is certainly news to me...who exactly?
